Galba, 68-69. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.50 g, 6 h), uncertain western mint (Tarraco?). SER•GALBA•IMP•CAESAR•AVG•P•M•TR•P Laureate head of Galba to right, globe at point of bust. Rev. Shield inscribed SP•QR within oak wreath. BMC 190 var. (differing obverse legend). Cohen 282 var. (differing obverse legend). RIC 47 var. (differing obverse legend). A very rare variety. Beautifully toned. Very fine.

From the Galba Collection, Hess-Divo 333, 10 November 2017, 102 and previously acquired from Leu in February 2001.
